The Sisters Of Perpetual Resistance are a unified group of militant feminists drawing on the disruptive aesthetic and techniques of Femen, Pussy Riot , Slut Walk and the women’s suffrage movement of the early 20th century to further their aims. They have renounced a full manifesto in favour of celebrating all women, by any means considered appropriate.
In 2010 the Sisters commissioned Miss Pokeno to create work and furnishings for a south London HQ, the only brief being “to glorify that which is deemed too ugly for words”. From this HQ the Sisters will continue to mobilise in Perpetual Resistance, and will make available for purchase instruments of nuisance for this purpose.
Miss Pokeno has almost completed her task and will open the HQ for a series of private viewings from 13.11.13
