1st – 7th May| 12 – 9pm daily| Doyce Street Studios, SE1 0EU6
A furry road, rainy day canapés, chairs that aren’t chairs and finely stitched tumbleweed.
3StreetsAway from the Dorothea Tanning show at Tate Modern, a group of diverse, contemporary artists are creating their own works in response to the American surrealist.
From 1st – 7th May experience a small, surreal and interactive exhibition and a seven day series of happenings, with live performances, sculpture, moving image and paint.
“Tanning railed against being called a woman artist and a surrealist despite being both. In these times of prescriptive art and suffocating self-censorship these new works take their cue from Tanning’s instinctive, boundless and gloriously contradictory output to create something unexpected”
– Alannah Currie, Artist Curator
